Nizam ul Mulk is an exceptionally smooth, pristine oud oil from Nagaland that opens with nuances of leather, warm spices reminiscent of slight pepper and anise, delicate florals, and soothing tea-like notes. Distilled slowly at low temperatures over several days, this method extracted a perfectly balanced oil from rich, juicy wood. No fermentation, no off notes, no barn.

The result is a captivating aroma; its top notes are irresistibly addictive; you may find it hard to keep your wrist away from your nose. The signature Hindi oud character is ever-present, yet unusually clean and refined, carrying gracefully into the dry-down.

This oil was custom-distilled by a dear friend and acquired during my recent trip. We used a stainless steel pot without any soaking. It’s on par with some of the finest Hindi oils I distilled for a private client and from the releases during my early years on Etsy, those that truly stood out at the time.
