Leyte Reverie
An incense-grade oud oil from the most sought-after region of the Philippines has the sweet, musky, woody, incensy, floral, oceanic, and earthy notes with no barn or fermentation.
Description
Leyte Reverie is my first-ever offering from the Filipino region. It is a pristine and captivating oud oil distilled from A. cumingiana species from the heart of the Leyte region. Distilled close to a month from 100% incense-grade material, it carries a unique combination of sweet, floral, and musky notes, creating a scent that is more delicate and complex. The smell unfolds with a soft, sweet undertone, evoking a freshness of tropical blooms before transitioning into a musky warmth that is comforting and grounding.
As the scent develops, the incense-like notes emerge, adding a sense of tranquility and mystique. The incense tone, which elevates the composition, is gentle rather than overpowering or smoky. The floral facets emerge that lift the profile to a more ethereal level. The floral is soft like freshly bloomed flowers in the early morning and offers harmonious balance that feels refreshing. There’s also an oceanic aspect to the scent, like a cool breeze coming from a distant sea. The base of the oil evokes the feeling of being in a lush jungle with the scent of damp earth and woodsy essence, which is smooth and soft, reminiscent of walking through an ancient forest.
In general, this Leyte Reverie captures the essence of the Philippine islands: an intoxicating blend of nature’s beauty, untamed forests, and the tranquility of the sea. It’s an oud oil that exudes clarity and elegance, making it a timeless treasure. I’m sure you’ll all be in a state of reverie with just a single swipe.

Anas most definitely knows what he is doing when distilling, and definitely uses very high quality woods! The description mentions “damp earth” but this is not like that type of profile where it is as if you are directly smelling the ground or dirt, so don’t let that scare you if you are not usually a fan of that profile.
This oil has a beautiful and surprising mix of notes, and a very unique color as well. After wearing the sample a few times, I came back and ordered 1gr…
