Bilquis 3

A marriage of sandalwood and Kinam has always been special. When I first distilled Bilquis, everyone was so touched with its beauty that many reordered. Some used it for maceration and others as a standalone. The huge success gave me a motivation to distill Bilquis 2 and now the most amazing of all, Bilquis 3.

As many of you know, I’ve been distilling sandalwood for the past 3 years now, and before choosing what type of sandalwood goes into the co-distillation, I first distilled standalone blackmeat root and heartwood material. Both were great in terms of yield and strength, but at the end of the day, root oil stood out because it was louder and presumably had the ability to enhance the Green CK top notes to the next level.

After distilling it for 2 continuous weeks and a couple pulls, the results were far beyond expectation. When I was smelling the top fraction, I could sense the chinese oud oil dna and kept on smelling it. Sandalwood was indeed showcasing the bright side of the green CK which can’t be sensed on a standalone CK oil. Now I know why people loved Bilquis so much. As the scent progresses, the sandalwood showcases its smooth, velvety, and sweet woodiness. Both materials play hide-and-seek and will keep distracting you when you wear them on the skin. This is the type of scent you can only achieve with co-distillation and not blending or layering.
