Nectar Myanmar

An exclusive collaboration between AlHind Oud and ElKhaldi Studio.

I’m fortunate enough to collaborate with one of the finest perfumers, Maher Elkhaldi. When I received the Nectar Base blend from him, I immediately sensed its potential and knew exactly how I wanted to build upon it. After experimenting with several oud oils, it was a couple of oud oils from Myanmar that stood out—they perfectly aligned with our vision for the blend. I paired it with my in-house distilled Mysore Sandalwood oil (from vintage trees), Indian Red Rose Ruh (India), and Rose Damascena. I’ve gone through several iterations until I found the right balance and sent back the blend to Maher for a review.

Despite the gracious praise from those who experienced it, a quiet sense of incompletion lingered in the recesses of my mind. So, I reached into my private reserve, unveiling rare treasures—Ruh Jasmine of exquisite delicacy and a Vietnamese Oud aged to perfection over five years. With a touch of patience and several more weeks of careful maturation, the blend blossomed into its true essence. And now, I present it—elegantly complete.”

Smell Description:

Step into the heart of a forgotten jungle temple, where sacred incense drifts through mist-laced trees and the air hums with ancient life. Nectar Myanmar is a tribute to the lush, untamed beauty of Southeast Asia — a rare attar composed of florals, aged animalics, and some of the most exquisite ouds ever distilled.

The journey begins with a golden duet of osmanthus and honeysuckle, sweet and sunlit, their nectarous glow drawing you in like the soft breath of dawn. Then, a lavish floral heart unfurls — red rose oil as deep and velvety as crushed silk, entwined with the narcotic intensity of jasmine, suspended in a smoky embrace of vintage civet and vintage musk, aged to perfection.

As the attar warms on the skin, its soul reveals itself: a trinity of precious oils. Pursat Zen Oud from 2014 (AlHind Oud), aged and enigmatic, anchors the scent with resinous gravity. Two distinct Burmese ouds — one fruity-smoky, the other tea-sweet — swirl together in sensual rhythm, lifted by a note of crisp, spiritual Vietnamese oud. (2020) At its foundation, sandalwood oils from both root and heartwood (AHO Mysuru Special) soften the intensity with creamy depth, while the primal signatures of hyraceum and castoreum whisper of wild skins, sun-warmed stone, and hidden paths.
